Free reading intervention workshop (Region 1)

Reading-Intervention_coloreFilipino teachers and school administrators from the Ilocos region are invited to a free workshop on Filipino Reading Diagnostic and Intervention. The workshop will be held on March 7, 2014 (Friday) at the University of Luzon in Dagupan City and will be facilitated by Vic Villanueva, reading expert and director of Readability Literacy Improvement Center.

Designed for Filipino teachers, reading coordinators, as well as school administrators, the workshop aims to strengthen the school’s current Filipino curriculum and help develop effective reading programs in Filipino. It shall cover the following areas:

  • framework for assessing reading comprehension in Filipino,
  • methods for constructing assessment tools,
  • process of conducting reading assessment,
  • and methods for interpreting assessment data.
