Launch: May Darating na Trak Bukas & The Little Girl in a Box

Ortigas Foundation Inc (OFI) graciously hosted the launch of two of our new books, this past Wednesday, January 22 at their library. The two books, The Little Girl in a Box (written by Felinda Bagas and illustrated by Aldy Aguirre) and May Darating na Trak Bukas (written by Virgilio S. Almario and illustrated by Sergio Bumatay III), were released late last year.

John Silva, Executive Director of OFI, opened the launch with a showcase of the various children’s books housed in the library, inviting the guests to peruse its rich collection of Filipiniana and materials on Philippine history with some dating back to the 17th century.

Guests heard authors Felinda V. Bagas and Virgilio S. Almario speak about their influences and hopes for the local children’s publishing industry, and readings of the books by storyteller Earle Figuracion and actress Dimples Romana. During the launch, guests were also welcomed by an exhibit of a select number of the excellent artwork featured in the books by illustrators Aldy Aguirre and Sergio Bumatay III.

Look for the new books in your favorite book stores, or see them online at the Adarna House website.
