[UPDATE] Workshops for teachers

Slots are still available for the two remaining workshops in our Klasrum Adarna series for this summer! (Click here to see previous related post.)

The May 14 workshop on Developing Book-Based Lesson Plans will now be held at Room 201, College of Arts and Letters (CAL) New Building, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. The head facilitator for this workshop is Pamela Razon of UPIS and UP College of Education.

There is still no venue for the workshop on teaching and reading history (Learning from the Past, slated for June 25). But Dr. Celestina Boncan (former president of the Philippine Historical Associate, and official spokesperson of the National Historical Institute regarding Philippine historical controversies) has provided us with the course outline:

Module 1: Focus on Content

  • Session One: Controversies and Fallacies in Philippine History
  • Session Two: Heroes and the Heroic Tradition

Module 2: Focus on Research

  • Session One: Learning History and Social Studies through Documents
  • Session Two: Learning History and Social Studies through Natural Sites and Built Structures

Exciting, no?
