April 16: Developing a Culturally-Relevant Curriculum

A workshop for preschool teachers, this will teach participants how to develop lesson plans using references and settings that are more familiar to the Filipino child. Using local cultural treasures and traditions, this course will show how teaching basic preschool concepts can be used to raise socially-aware young citizens. [Fee: Php 1,000.00 / Php 750 if paid on or before April 6, 2011.]

May 14: Developing Book-Based Lesson Plans

This workshop is a crash course on the development of a literature-oriented curriculum. An instructional class on how to mine stories for pedagogical treasures, it will teach the participants how to use storybooks as a springboard for lessons in varied academic subjects and basic preschool concepts. [Fee: Php 1,350.00 / Php 1000 if paid on or before April 29, 2011.]

June 25: Learning from the Past

In celebration of Independence Day and Rizal’s 150th birthday, social science teachers and history enthusiasts are invited to this lecture on reading and teaching history. The seminar will focus on developing simple and fun activities for the social studies classroom. [Fee: Php 1,300.00 / Php 1000 if paid on or before April 29, 2011.
