The Philippine Board on Books for Young People awards the 2009 PBBY-Salanga Silver Prize to Raymund Garlitos for his story, Ang Higante sa Loob ng Aming Bahay. The story revolves a young child’s feelings and reactions to his OFW father’s homecoming. Rhandee, who is also the author of Chenelyn! Chenelyn!, is an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, as well as a freelance journalist.
Congrats as well to this year’s honorable mention winners, Perry Mangilaya (Di Ko Man Kamukha sina Inay at Itay) and Becky Bravo (Lola-Lola).
