Call for Participants: Salaysayan 2008
Application forms are now available for this year’s Salaysayan, the first ever national storytelling contest. The contest is open to both amateurs and professionals aged 21 and above. Deadline of Application Forms is August 31, 2008. 25 Best-Loved Children’s Book Characters Exhibit
After surveying hundreds of Filipino children, here is an exhibit of life-size sculptures of the 25 best-loved children’s book characters. The sculptures are done by members of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang InK). The exhibit will be displayed at the Atrium of the Cultural Center of the Philippines from July 16 to August 6, and at the SMX Convention Center from September 12 to 16, during the Manila International Book Fair.

Workshops at the Manila International Book Fair
The PBBY offers the following workshops at SMX during the Manila International Book Fair: A Thumbnail History of Children’s Literature in the Philippines ٠ 25 Ways to Entice Children with Stories ٠ Library Magic ٠ Tong Tong Tong: Tinig, Tunog, at Talino ng Tulang Pambata ٠ Creative Effective Visuals for Children’s Books ٠ Reading, Responding and Reviewing. The workshops are scheduled on September 13 to 15, at the SMX Convention Center Function Rooms. There is a Php 600 fee per workshop, except for Library Magic, which has a fee of Php 1000.
